Today I want to recommend another place to visit in our Mexico, this is the Pools of Xilitla garden come from the imagination of a man with a passion for surrealism where he built his interesting book "The Castle". Xilitla means "place of snails" and is a town in the semi-tropical mountain range of San Luis Potosi. This beautiful place, save the former convent of San Agustín, built in the sixteenth century and shows the passage of time, through its impressive walls covered with moss. Overall, the Augustinian friars founded the convent in 1557, but the Indians attacked the place causing Chichimecas neglect and, over time, families from Jacala, Hidalgo, refurbishing the repopulated the region's majestic convent.
Lo interesante de este sitio son las famosas “Pozas”, formaciones que son como jacuzzis naturales; se encuentran junto al castillo del europeo Sir Edward James. “El Castillo”, es el resultado de la imaginación de los sueños del inglés que hizo un conjunto de construcciones irreales integrándolas a la selva tupida de vegetación, cascadas y las aguas cristalinas de las pozas...
Y ¿Quién era Sir James?
Sir Edward James, fue nieto del Rey Eduardo VII de Inglaterra. Era un amante del entorno
natural y de los animales; amigo de Salvador Dalí y apasionado del arte surrealista. El llegó al pueblo de Jilitla in 1950, and its purpose was to search for orchids. His belief in the divine signs, and disclosure was materialized when one day swimming in the pools, hundreds of butterflies surrounded him and was amazed with the divine sign.
